CATHERINE ISAAC AND BLYTH VAUTIER
ST DAVIDS ANGLICAN CHURCH AND DUNES RESTAURANT, PALM BEACH, NSW

The meeting
Blyth and Catherine met while they were at the Wharf Bar in Manly one Sunday afternoon when she was playing wing-man for a girlfriend. “We'd both been single on and off for about 2 years, and both spend most weekends out and about in Manly, but we'd never crossed paths,” says Catherine. Blyth was at the bar with the same group of guys they were going to meet. The pair felt an instant attraction and started chatting. After about an hour Blyth had to leave and meet up with his family but they both hoped they would bump into each other again. After another drink Catherine left to go to another bar. “As I was walking down the road, I literally bumped into Blyth...Both blown away by the co-incidence we decided head to the Shore Club together, and the rest is history,” says the 30 year-old.

The proposal
Blyth had told Catherine to keep Good Friday in 2010 free because he wanted to take her on a ‘date day’. They started driving to West Head but Catherine thought little of it as they often drive up the coast for a surf. Blyth, being a retired triathlete, said that he wanted to show her where he trains on his bike. So they got out and walked to a lookout. “He called me over to a seat, where he told me to shut my eyes. When I opened them he presented me with the most beautiful diamond ring, and asked me to marry him! I couldn't contain myself, I thought I'd cry but all I could do was laugh and say YES!” she says.

The wedding day
They wanted the day to be a casual affair with a fun party atmosphere for their 86 guests. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as Catherine walked down the aisle, but once she got to the front the service was filled with laughter. For the reception at Dunes Restaurant they chose to get the party started by placing a dress up accessory on each guest's seat. “During the mains and speeches everyone was sitting there with crazy wigs, glasses hats etcetera on, then as soon as the dancing started it got crazy,” she says.

The dress
Catherine wore a full-length, fitted dress with thin straps and a V-neck in an off-white beaded lace. It featured a beaded brooch at the bust and came from Sarah Devine Bridal Couture in Mosman. She wore her mother’s veil.

The cake
Catherine made a four-tiered cheese wheel cake decorated with fresh figs. They served it on cheese boards for the guests to pick at throughout the night.

The photography
The photos were taken by Mint Photography and by Adam Singer from Photopod.

The honeymoon
They went to Phuket in Thailand.

Wedding: Cath & Blyth

Friday 18th March 2011 - Palm Beach

Mint Photography had the absolute pleasure of being part of Cath and Blyth's wedding day in Palm Beach.

I felt so relaxed from the moment I walked into the stunning home where Cath was getting ready. Laughs and more laughs were heard throughout the home. Kookaburra's perched on the deck as if they were part of the guest list!

Cath wore a gorgeous off white fitted dress with beaded lace. The broach from Sarah Divine Bridal couture, Mosman.

Such a beautiful simple bouquet of daisies created by Sweat Pea Floral Designs in Bellevue Hill.

Janaya, (Cath's bridesmaid) wore a strapless raw silk mini dress in citrus yellow, by Nicola Finetti.

Dunes at Palm beach hosted an amazing reception! A 4 tier cheese wheel cake decorated with fresh figs was designed and constructed by Cath!

"Smudge" appeared on every table displaying the table number and Cath and Blyth put a dress up accessory on every chair, what a fun theme for the guests!

Two very special people......x
